Deutsche Bank hires MBS group heads

Deutsche Bank has hired Neil Ahuja and John Roach as head of mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and mortgage derivatives trading, respectively.

Based in New York, Ahuja will be responsible for agency and private collateralised mortgage obligations (CMOs), hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages and mortgage derivatives. He will report to Phil Weingord, head of global markets for the Americas.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Ahuja was at RBS Greenwich Capital, where he was responsible for trading, origination and risk management for the agency, CMOs, residential conduits and mortgage derivatives desks. Before this, he was head of mortgage structuring at Lehman Brothers.

Roach, who will report to Ahuja at Deutsche, was previously at UBS, where he traded mortgage derivatives products.
