A market too far?

Are UK retail investors as prepared for the hedge fund market, as the marketeers of hedge funds lead us to believe?

The UK retail investor is ready, willing and eager to buy hedge funds ' so the marketing to the UK's independent financial advisers (IFAs)suggests.

A cynic I may be, but is anyone else questioning the motives behind the launch of a number of funds of hedge funds to retail investors in the UK? Are hedge funds ready for the retail market? Is the retail consumer really prepared for hedge funds?
