UK fraud levels rise to new high

Latest data on op risk losses from Cifas

Figures for 2012 from the UK non-profit anti-fraud organisation Cifas show another rise in fraud to the highest level ever recorded in the UK. 2012 saw 248,325 fraud cases recorded in the National Fraud Database, up 5% from the 2011 figure of 236,516.





















Almost half of the total was made up of identity fraud, which now represents 49.8% of the total. But the fastest growth was in facility takeover
