RMA and ORRF up European efforts
London – Operational risk trade associations are beginning to increase their efforts in Europe. The two major contenders for trade association membership are the London-based Operational Risk Research Forum (ORRF) and the US-based Risk Management Association (RMA).
ORRF received official ‘institute’ status from the UK government earlier this year, and says it plans to offer accreditation for op risk professionals in time. It has a battery of high-profile names behind it, including Brendon Young, formerly of Moody’s and John Thirlwell, formerly of the British Bankers Association.
