Landmarks In Money Laundering

Two landmark developments have further intensified the battle against money laundering. In the face of international pressure, the Liechtenstein Banking Association (LBA) has recently finally demanded that its member banks make it mandatory for customers opening accounts to reveal their identity.

Previously, customers setting up accounts in Liechtenstein, a German-speaking principality on the border of Austria and Switzerland, could retain their anonymity by using an intermediary.
