Andrea Maechler is no stranger to the workings of liquidity providers and algorithmic trading. As a governing board member of the Swiss National Bank (SNB), she chaired the work carried out by the Bank for International Settlements in 2020 on the use of algos in foreign exchange markets. The findings of the report were used by the Global Foreign Exchange Committee to assist with its three-yearly review of the industry’s code of conduct, and led to several key changes to its stance on electronic
