
Hong Kong examines feasibility of OTC derivatives central clearing
A task force created by the Hong Kong Treasury Markets Association (TMA) is set to examine the feasibility of establishing a derivatives clearing house in the territory.
The task force will send out questionnaires to both local and international banks in the next 10 days requesting information on the local derivatives market. The TMA will then analyse the data and present its recommendations to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).
