Gary Morsches, the newly installed head of CME Group’s global energy business, has joined the exchange during a period of change for energy trading, not to mention derivatives trading in general. In addition to the ongoing development of a new regulatory regime under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, energy traders are facing changes to the two major global crude oil benchmarks, and the ongoing evolution of trading technology.
