Euronext.Liffe launches OTC facility

European stock and derivatives exchange Euronext.Liffe has launched a new facility for trading over-the-counter equity derivatives.

The facility will provide customers with the benefits of trade confirmation, administration and clearing of OTC derivatives without publication of trade time, price or size, the exchange said.

Initially, 85 standardised and 40 customisable UK equity options will be available for trade. The exchange said it plans to expand into European markets, although no date for this was available.

“The OTC facility provides customers with the best of both worlds, the traditional benefits of trading OTC combined with certainty of trade confirmation, simplicity of post-trade management and security of a central counterparty,” said Fraser Cowie, executive director of marketing at Euronext.Liffe.
