Borzen and Eurex to launch SouthPool

Slovenian power exchange Borzen and Swiss derivatives exchange Eurex are to create a spot power market for the southeast European region. The new company, called SouthPool, will be based in Ljubljana and will launch in January 2008.

Borzen will initially hold a 51% stake in the joint venture and Eurex 49%. The venture aims to include a wide range of partners from the region and is open to further shareholders.
