BlueNext launches EUA Futures

Environmental exchange BlueNext has listed its first derivatives contracts, offering EU Allowance (EUA) futures with December 2008 to 2012 maturities.

The exchange, owned by NYSE and French state financial institution Caisse des Dépôts, said that the contracts will be listed on the same trading platform as the existing BlueNext Spot EUA 2008-2012.

Registered brokers with BlueNext include EDF Trading, Electrabel, Spectron, TFS, and Tullett Prebon (Europe).

The exchange says that BlueNext Futures will be cleared through LCH.Clearnet SA and a network of clearing members including Barclays Bank, Bhf Bank, Fortis, MF Global and Newedge.
