TFS brokers first Nymex emissions contract

Global broker Tradition Financial Services (TFS) has brokered the first transaction on the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) emissions futures contract.

The January 2006 future on vintage 2006 NOx allowances transacted at $2,800 per allowance for 100 allowances.

Nymex started offering SO2 and NOx contracts for vintages 2005 through 2008 on June 19 on its ClearPort electronic trading and clearing platform.

TFS’s coal and environmental products desks are located in New York, London, Frankfurt and Sydney.
