Polish power exchange chooses OMX software for trading and clearing

In a move to develop its electricity spot and derivatives market, the Polish Power Exchange (PolPX) will use the Condico system from Stockholm-based OMX, the owner and operator of the Swedish stock exchange.

Romanian power market operator Opcom and joint Spanish-Portuguese electricity market Mibel also recently installed the Condico system.

The PolPX-OMX agreement includes licensing and five-year support of the system, which will be used for electricity spot and derivatives contracts. The agreement also includes OMX setting up a green-certificate register to enable trading of such certificates in the future.
