CBOE and Taifex sign MOU

The MOU also covers educational initiatives designed to enhance each exchange's understanding of the other's products, markets, technologies and regulation. These collaborative efforts between the two lay the groundwork for future business relationships, including joint marketing efforts and potential product offerings.

Taifex offers 14 products, including futures and options on major Taiwan stock indexes, government bond futures, 30-day commercial paper interest rate futures, equity options and gold futures.

The exchange has taken measures to facilitate internationalisation and boost foreign participation. It now allows trading for non-hedging purposes by foreign investors, has introduced omnibus accounts and accepts margin deposits in dollars.

Taifex is also planning to launch four other stock index-related futures and options contracts and introduce spread orders in October.
