Euronext Amsterdam early for on-screen derivatives trading

Euoronext Amsterdam believes it will have moved all Dutch futures and options onto screen-based trading by December 9 – three months ahead of schedule.

The migration from floor to screen trading began in November 2001, and is now 70% complete. The last phase – the migration of AEX index options – will be complete by the new December deadline, the exchange said. The exchange claimed the switch to on-screen trading has already resulted in a substantial increase in turnover, more liquid contracts and lower spreads.
