Euronext launches sugar derivatives

Euronext.liffe, the London-based derivatives exchange, will launch futures and options based on raw sugar next month.

The contracts will be listed on the Liffe Connect electronic trading system. Details of the contracts will be released "over the coming weeks", the exchange said.

Liffe already lists contracts based on white sugar, and the new contracts will allow investors to trade on the processing margin between raw and white sugar, the exchange added.

Euronext's US rival, the New York Board of Trade, already lists raw sugar contracts.
