Software glitch halts CBOE trading

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) suffered an interruption in its order routing and dissemination reporting last Wednesday.

"On Wednesday, 8 December, the CBOE experienced a limited systems problem from 2:50pm to 3:02pm CST, that interrupted electronic order routing and the dissemination of price and quote reports," said the CBOE in a statement.

"A problem with the operating system was quickly diagnosed and resolved," said a CBOE official.
