Eurex turned over 94 million contracts in June, with over half its volume occurring in the fixed-income derivatives segment. The Euro Bund remained the exchange's most heavily traded futures contract, with turnover at 21.5 million, while the Euro Bobl accounted for around 16 million contracts, said Eurex. Meanwhile, 12.8 million Euro Schatz futures contracts were traded, up by around 10% on June 2003.

Eurex traded 39.1 million equity derivatives contracts in June, 23.7 million of which were equity index derivatives, and 15.4 million were related to equity options. “The Italian equity options segment, which was expanded in February, achieved a new record of 16,170 contracts,” said Eurex.

The DJ Euro Stoxx 50 equity index product saw turnover of 11 million contracts, up roughly 22% month-on-month, said Eurex.
