CME set to launch renminbi futures and options

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) is to launch futures and options on renminbi exchange rates against the dollar, euro and yen. The contracts will begin trading on August 27.

The decision to launch new renminbi contracts, which will trade exclusively on the CME's Globex electronic trading platform, follows demand from global investors and market participants for new tools to manage fluctuations in these exchange rates, says John Davidson, CME managing director and chief corporate development
