MSCI creates hedge fund composite index

Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) has launched a hedge fund index that splits into sub-indices for various strategies.

The MSCI Hedge Fund Composite Index includes more than 90 indices calculated monthly from a list of 350 hedge funds. This is supported by a database of more than 750 hedge funds and an internet-based analytical tool.
