Investors in Switzerland turn towards equity-linked products to beat fixed-income returns

Zurich: Swiss structured products sales are up for 2013

A renewed risk-on attitude has given the structured products market in Switzerland a boost, according to Vito Schiro, head of advisory for investment products and services at UBS in Zurich.

Since the start of this year, investors have been more willing to put part of their capital at risk in a bid to obtain a higher yield, resulting in a noticeable pick-up in equity-linked structured product sales, says Schiro. "Fixed income had a good run last year, but now equities have seen stronger interest
