Letter to the editor: Questions for the FSMA

Dear Sir,

Those who are familiar with investor protection issues and objectives will readily agree with the simple but nevertheless pertinent statement made by Jean-Paul Servais, chairperson of Belgium's Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA), in an interview with a news agency: "The aim is to rekindle private investors' confidence in the financial sector."

As we all know, while there is generally agreement as to the right objective, the question of which path should be taken to achieve
