
Swiss exchange-traded funds hit record highs in 2010

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) reached record levels on Swiss exchanges last year, with turnover and trading volumes at their highest levels since the first listing 10 years ago.
Turnover for ETFs hit Sfr71.7 billion (€56.6 billion) in 2010, which is a 42% increase on 2009's figures, according to the Six Swiss Exchange and Scoach. Trades were also up by 50% on 2009 to reach a total of 696,579.
The figures are in contrast to small increases or falling volumes seen by the other instruments traded on
