FVC Custom Indexes

There has been a distinct difference in the way that Japan and Europe’s benchmark indexes have performed over the last five years. FVC explains and expands on the reasons why.

There are notable differences and similarities between the monthly performance of the Nikkei 225 and the Eurostoxx 50 indexes over the past five years, with both peaking around April 2007. In the case of the Eurostoxx 50, the highest point is at the end of a fairly steady climb since the FVC indexes were launched at the end of December 2003. Meanwhile the Nikkei 225 peaks after a period of fairly consistent highs (in comparison to December 2003) dating back to January 2006.
