Amundi adds Ithurbide as head of research and strategy

Ithurbide to head Amundi research

Philippe Ithurbide will join Amundi on July 15 as head of global research, strategy and analysis. Ithurbide will be part of the institutional investment division, reporting to Pascal Blanqué, chief investment officer group, deputy chief executive officer and head of the institutional investment division.

Ithurbide joins from Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (Montréal), which he joined in 2006 and where he was a member of the board and of the asset allocation committee. He was also premier vice-president in charge of fixed income, currency and credit between 2007 to 2009, and of multi-asset class overlay strategy subsequently. He was previously in charge of strategic investment in the fixed income and credit division.

Before that, Ithurbide worked for Societe Generale (SG Corporate and Investment Bank) between 1991 and 2006 as head of research in currency and fixed income, after joining as chief economist. He moved to SG from Manufacturers Hanover Bank, where he was chief economist, a position he had also held at Banque Française de Commerce Extérieur (BFCE) before his move to Manny Hanny.
