A dramatic increase in the notional issuance of accelerated growth products in the US has catapulted Bank of America to the top of the issuance charts

A 50% rise in the notional of structured products issued in the US, particularly accelerated growth products issued by the Bank of America, have taken that bank to the top of the issuance table. The rise in popularity of accelerated growth products and the fall in the number of reverse convertibles priced by Barclays has meant that the UK bank has been usurped in top spot for notional for the first time since August 2009. Barclays was also overtaken on notional issuance by JP Morgan.
