US wrap: Issuance volumes soar with focus on Barclays reverse convertibles

The US market has picked up at the end of an otherwise modest week. Barclays leads the issuance with its reverse convertibles based on the financial sector

After a moderate start to the week issuance in the US took off yesterday, with 216 new products registered with the Securities Exchange Commission. Most were reverse convertibles, issued by Barclays, but all the usual players in the market have also joined the offering.
