No sooner had the UK structured products community presented a shiny new trade association to the world than another version of the same thing was announced.

A trade association for the UK is long overdue, and represents a crucial step now that the world’s regulators have woken from their slumber. But why two? No-one can plead ignorance of the impotence that can result when two trade bodies fight the same cause. Just take a look at Germany, where the Derivate Forum and the Deutsche Derivative
