Asia Risk Congress: Wealth managers want rules for post-Lehman world

Fast-growing wealth management markets in Asia need region-wide regulatory oversight to help them adjust to a changed post-Lehman environment, according to Bryan Henning, global product head for wealth management at Standard Chartered Bank, who was speaking today at the Asia Risk Congress in Hong Kong.

The collapse of Lehman Brothers in September 2008 changed wealth management for good, said Henning – and debunked a number of myths in the process. For example, he said, capital protection is now
