A new Paradigm

The name Keith Styrcula is synonymous with the structured products market in the US. Now the chairman of the Structured Products Association has left JP Morgan and set up shop with Project Paradigm. Paul Lyon asks him what the future holds

How did you get involved with the structured products market?

I joined CSFB's legal department in the early 1990s as their sole derivatives counsel at the time the firm's derivatives business was on the verge of major expansion. In 1996, I was one of the first lawyers in the industry to move from a legal department to the front office, in a structuring capacity on the UBS trading floor in Stamford, Connecticut, working for Dan Coleman.

The first structured product I created was the first capital
