SG offers yen warrants to UK retail investors

Société Générale has listed 10 new FX-linked covered warrants on the London Stock Exchange. The warrants fluctuate in value according to the exchange rate between either the Japanese yen against sterling, or against the US dollar.

Three calls and two puts are offered on each of the currency pairs, all with an expiry date of December 18 2009 but with varying strike levels. Sixty-five FX-linked covered warrants are now available from SG on the exchange incorporating six currency pairs, with expiry dates ranging up until December this year. To date, the bank has listed 683 covered warrants across all asset classes, including 46 issues earlier in February.
