Crédit Agricole Asset Management creates in Australia

Crédit Agricole Asset Management Group (Caam Group) has created a wholly owned subsidiary - Crédit Agricole Asset Management Australia (Caam Australia) – following the opening of a rep office in Sydney in early 2007. The group has been created to cover both the Australia and New Zealand asset management markets, which now has assets under management of just under A$1.2bn (€726m), says Caam.

John Maragiannis has been appinted director of distribution for the new subsidiary, joining from Crédit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) where he was head of Institutional Sales until March 2006. Before that, Maragiannis ran the institutional sales function for Schroder Investment Management.

Maragiannis will report to Richard Borysiewicz, Caam country head for Australian and New Zealand, and will be responsible for new client sales and relationships in institutional and retail markets and
