Deutsche launches credit ETFs for European investors

Deutsche Bank is to launch three short-strategy iTraxx Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) on its pan-European ETF platform, db x-trackers.

Each fund is linked to one of three new iTraxx short indexes, developed by the International Index Company, and which are based on credit default swaps. The funds, which will be listed on the Italian Stock Exchange by the end of November, offer the chance to buy credit protection.

Deutsche is targeting the Ucits III funds at European insurance companies and asset managers who “are looking for protection from market turbulence in a non-derivative format,” says the bank.
