Evergreen reaps compliance rewards

BOSTON - Evergreen Investments, the investment management arm of Charlotte, NC-based Wachovia Bank, has completed the third phase of its implementation of the StarCompliance system for enterprise-wide compliance.

Jim Angelos, who heads up compliance for the firm’s mutual fund - which has trading desks in Boston and Charlotte, 110 portfolios and around $115 billion in assets under management - says his primary responsibility is the oversight of personal trading and compliance with the company’s code of ethics.

The StarCompliance system, a single application running on Evergreen’s intranet in its Boston data centre, is now company-wide, covering Evergreen’s investment professionals and access personnel
