Platform's Piero Bassu tells Dippy Singh how keeping an eye on all aspects of risk has stood the subprime lender in good stead while its less disciplined peers have foundered

Piero Bassu, head of credit risk at intermediary and all status lender Platform, is pleased to relate that when the credit crisis struck, "we didn't have a panic attack. If you looked at our particular strategy, our cutting back on risk and products has been rational. We didn't wake up one day and say, 'right, let's reduce everything to 75% LTV'".
