FI volumes rising


Fixed-income trading volumes have remained well above typical year-on-year progressions, according to Greenwich Associates’ inaugural analysis of the global fixed-income markets.

Greenwich estimates that institutional investors globally traded $25.32 trillion of fixed income in 2002, a figure that does not take into account either derivatives or short-term instruments such as commercial paper.

Growth in overall fixed income under management was as impressive, and added up to $21.6
