Moody's reveals methodology for asset managers

Rating agency Moody's has published the rating methodology it uses when evaluating asset management firms. Moody's maintains ratings on 15 asset management firms, which have around $12 billion of rated outstanding debt. These firms hold over $6.5 trillion of assets under management.

The methodology focuses on five rating factors: market position; distribution and services; the diversification and retention of assets under management; financial flexibility; and profitability/revenue stability.
