Bond market grows by 11% in 2006

The international bond market has soared to reach nearly $11 trillion, according to data from the International Capital Market Association (Icma). Measured in terms of outstanding debt in all currencies, the bond market stood at $10,545 billion at the end of 2006, up 11% on the previous year's figure. The value of new international bonds issued during 2006 was just over $3 trillion.
