Eurobond issuance picks up

The pre-World Cup month of May sees a six-fold rise in Eurobond issuance

New issue supply in the Eurobond market is picking up ahead of a potentially weak June. "Everyone is looking at the new issue market right now. We have already seen healthy volumes and demand for the deals. The increase in supply, though, is having no real effect in the secondary market, as spreads continue their tightening trend," says Suki Mann, credit strategist at Societe Generale in London.
