Head of Merrill Lynch European pension fund group quits

Dawid Konotey-Ahulu, managing director and head of the pension fund group for Europe at Merrill Lynch in London, has decided to quit the banking industry to work as an adviser to pension schemes and sponsors.

Konotey-Ahulu retires after 17 years in the industry. The exact details of his next move are unclear but he said clients had often said they would like independent pension fund advice from an investment bank perspective and this was an issue he was going to address. Merrill Lynch has not announced a replacement.
