LSE hosts first ETF launch from Barclays' new sharia panel


iShares, the ETF arm of Barclays, has listed three new sharia-compliant ETFs on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The ETFs are also the first financial product to be approved by Barclays' new panel of Islamic scholars.

The three new ETFs will track different indexes from the MSCI family providing exposure to sharia-compliant world, emerging markets and US stocks. Unlike their original MSCI counterparts, the indexes give greater exposure to energy, materials and technology sectors, as opposed to
