"The retail structured products market is clearly where the growth is," says Frankfurt-based Klaus Oppermann, head of public distribution, derivatives, at Commerzbank. Traditionally the restricted domain of mutual fund managers, investments banks are finding new ways of muscling in on the retail space. With everybody wanting a slice of the retail pie, however, it is becoming harder to distinguish investment banks from asset management firms.
