IMA sparks feud after slating structured products

The Investment Management Association (IMA) has ignited conflict with structured product providers after questioning the transparency and regulation of structured products. At the UK Financial Services Authority's (FSA) Asset Management Conference on September 17, Robert Jenkins, chairman of the IMA, said structured products aimed at retail are deceptively simple in sales pitch but complex in construction, and carry issuer and liquidity risk, and a level of costs that retail investors might not
