Dubai exchange goes for gold with sharia-compliant bullion shares

The World Gold Council and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) have announced a partnership to launch sharia-compliant Dubai Gold Shares to be listed on the Dubai International Financial Exchange.

The structure of Dubai Gold Shares will be similar to that of the Streettracks Gold exchange-traded fund on the New York Stock Exchange. It will be listed as a security and will trade like an open-ended investment trust. Each security will allow investors to gain exposure to precise amounts of
