ABI guidance long overdue

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) produced a draft of new recommendations for the marketing of structured products in August that go beyond the UK's Financial Services Authority (FSA)'s mandatory guidance. The draft document, which is part of the association's five-point action plan to help restore confidence in long-term savings, is intended to be used as a benchmarking tool for financial promotions. But some observers, while welcoming the extra guidance, say it is long overdue.
