FTSE takes over EPRA index calculation

FTSE, the London-headquartered index company, has taken over the calculation of the EPRA/NAREIT series of real estate indexes.

The index series, renamed the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Real Estate Index Series, was launched by Amsterdam-based EPRA (the European Public Real Estate Association) in 2000. It was designed to track the performance of listed real-estate companies and REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) across the globe, which is has done in conjunction with Washington DC-based NAREIT
