Aman Capital Global Fund closes

The Aman Capital Global Fund, one of Singapore's biggest hedge funds, closed down after derivatives trading losses reportedly led its biggest investors to withdraw from the fund.

A Financial Times report on June 20 said that among investors who requested for redemptions was GAM, a fund manager owned by UBS, that had provided the fund with $150 million of seed capital. GAM had made a loss of 13.5%, or $20.3 million in the 18 months to end-April.
