Standard Chartered starts private banking business


Standard Chartered will launch its private banking business in 10 markets across the globe by the end of June, with its headquarters in Singapore, which is increasingly attracting private banks and their clients, due to favourable tax treatment and a light-touch regulatory environment.

As of press time, Singapore and Hong Kong have opened, on May 28 and May 30 respectively. The emerging markets specialist bank will also operate in Beijing, Dubai, Jersey, London, Mumbai, New Delhi, Seoul and
