Regulators plan trio of Basle II papers for October

BASLE, SWITZERLAND -- Global banking regulators plan to issue on October 1 a working paper on the treatment of asset securitisation in the Basle II banking accord, one of the issues delaying the coming-into-effect of the controversial pact until late 2006.

The working paper is one of a trio of documents that the Basle Committee on Banking Supervision will issue on October 1, said banking regulators in April. The Basle Committee is the architect of Basle II and the body that in effect regulates
