Borsa boosts Italy’s lagging hedge funds

Rule changes in January meant to spur retail investment in Italian hedge funds have not succeeded, spurring the Borsa Italiana to launch a campaign to boost investor interest in the sector. “Interest in the Italian market has dwindled a little, we want to revive it,” says Massimo Capuano, president and chief executive at Borsa Italiana, speaking at the exchange’s hedge fund conference in Milan last month.
